The vendor is required to provide video and traffic data transport system supports the transmission of video and data from closed circuit television (CCTV) equipment, variable message signs (VMS), detectors, and systems deployed along interstates 395, 95, 91, 84, route 66, route 15, route 9, route 8, route 7 and route 2.
- Data to and from the camera pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) controllers, microwave traffic detectors, and VMS is multiplexed or digitally transmitted optically or via leased telephone lines.
- The transport system uses video display equipment at all central locations including video projection units, video wall monitors and desktop video monitors at the operators and engineering work stations.
- This includes the video display wall, processing equipment, encoding equipment, and communications equipment to display video and data.
- Requirement:
• Color video monitors installed at central locations to view CCTV video.
• Small bezel LCD, LED, or direct view video wall monitors installed in central locations
• DLP video and graphics wall with processor and operating system used to display video and data in central locations
• Installed in the camera cabinets for transmission of combined video, PTZ control, traffic flow monitor (“TFM”) data, and VMS data to the mini-hub cabinets or operations center a matching optical video/data receiver installed in the mini-hub cabinets or central locations to separate the video and data channels for multiplexing.
• Installed in VMS field equipment cabinets, camera cabinets, and mini-hub cabinets for transmission of data between the VMS field equipment cabinet and camera or mini-hub cabinet.
• The fiber optic modems are used for the connections of variable message signs to the video and data transport system equipment.
• Installed in the mini-hub cabinets for multiplexing up to 16 video/data signals and transmitting the multiplexed analog video/data a matching fiber optic video de-multi plexer is used to DE multiplex the video signals and connect to the video matrix switches.
• Video and data multiplexing repeaters are also used to repeat signals coming from the multiplexer going to the de-multi-plexer.
• Encoders are used for digitization of video over leased telephone lines or over the ring Ethernet backbone to central locations, media clients, or graphics wall processor
• Video equalizers are also installed in central locations for cameras that are directly connected using fiber or copper
• The ring Ethernet equipment is also used for the media access system to provide digitized video to clients.
