The Vendor is required to provide to the Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) system and fulfills obligations under the service agreement with Telus Communications Inc. (TELUS).
- Data and Technical Objectives
• Consolidating civic addressing, zoning, and subdivision data
• Validating GIS data in accordance with NG9-1-1 standards
• Preparing submission-ready NG9-1-1 datasets
- Operational Compliance Objectives
• Ensuring datasets support 9-1-1 call handling processes
• Aligning with operator triage requirements and service routing
• Supporting accurate identification of emergency service jurisdiction
- Data Collection and Integration
• Collect GIS, civic addressing, and subdivision data from each municipality
• Consolidate data into a regional dataset
• Identify and resolve inconsistencies
- Data Validation and Compliance
• Validate GIS data against NG9-1-1 (NENA i3) requirements
• Ensure compatibility with:
• Location validation functions
• Emergency call routing
• Align datasets with MSAG and service boundary requirements
- Call Routing and Triage Support
• GIS datasets must enable correct routing for:
o Police, Fire, Ambulance services
o Multi-agency incidents
o Specialized responses (e.g., Coast Guard, EMBC)
- Special Call Scenarios
• Data must support operational handling of:
o Abandoned calls and callback logic
o Active deadly threats
o Multi-agency events
o Alternate routing situations
