The Vendor is required to provide automatic vehicle location (AVL) (global positioning system (GPS)) hardware and telematics solutions to assess available functionality, technical and integration approaches, implementation requirements, support models, pricing structures, and future product direction.
- The need is not immediate, the county anticipates conducting a public procurement process in the future to establish a multi-year contract for its GPS and telematics requirements, ultimately replacing the current agreement upon expiry.
- Solution includes approximately 600 vehicles and equipment assets, including but not limited to light- and medium-duty vehicles, winter operations equipment, construction equipment, heavy-duty trucks, off-road vehicles and ride-on mowers.
- Application programming interface (API) would allow data—such as mileage and hour-meter readings—to flow directly from the telematics solution into the Fleet Management System (FMS).
