The vendor is required to provide american sign language (ASL) translation and video production services for the state of driver’s license handbook in english.
- Includes translation, filming, post-production, and delivery of a fully accessible asl video version of approximately 30,000 words of content.
- Linguistic tasks
• Translate and peer-review approximately 30,000 english words contained in the state driver’s license handbook into ASL, considering grammar, cultural appropriateness, and clarity;
• Produce a gloss in english that reflects ASL grammar and structure.
- Casting and production
• Cast native ASL deaf signers for on-camera video recording and;
• Have a deaf language coach and quality control staff on-site.
- Technical requirements
• Film using professional studio equipment at a minimum of 30 fps and a minimum of 720p resolution and;
• Include on-screen graphics from written materials at appropriate times to ensure synchronization and accessibility for deaf viewers.
