The Vendor is required to provide comprehensive American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting and captioning services to support its commitment to accessibility and inclusive communication.
- These services will assist the City in ensuring effective communication with members of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community across a variety of settings, including public meetings, community events, trainings, and televised or livestreamed broadcasts.
- Regularly Scheduled Services
• Provide certified ASL Interpreters and CART Captioners for scheduled City-hosted functions, including:
o City Council, Commission, and Committee meetings
o Public hearings, workshops, and community meetings
o City-sponsored trainings, presentations, and educational events
o Cultural, ceremonial, or performance-based events
- Emergency or Short-Notice Services
• Press conferences and public announcements
• Emergency response briefings
• Special meetings called with less than 48 hours’ notice
• The Contractor shall make reasonable efforts to provide qualified personnel within 2–4 hours of request, subject to availability.
- Responsibilities
• Coordinate with the City for scheduling, setup, and logistics.
• Arrive at assignments at least 15 minutes before start time unless otherwise approved.
• Provide necessary equipment for service delivery, including captioning hardware/software.
• Ensure CART captions are legible, accurate, and delivered in real time.
