Vendors to provide foreign language interpreters and translators to provide services to the City on an as-needed basis for non-English speaking community members involved in City business matters.
- Most common languages other than Spanish: Navajo, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Farsi, Arabic, Chinese, Tongan, Russian, Karenni, Chuukese, Chuj, Popti, Marshallese, Hindi and ASL.
- Document translation services shall be provided for various tasks, such as general correspondence, technical or scientific materials, high level study materials, legal documents, forms, booklets, pamphlets, A/V materials, etc.
- On demand over-the-phone interpretation services are necessary and may be critical in assisting the City. The Provider shall provide, at a minimum, the following:
• Professionally trained and certified interpreters who shall be capable of accurately relaying information given by the City personnel.
• An established toll-free calling system to receive and route calls to the appropriate interpreter available twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days a week, including State observed holidays.
• An efficient call routing and dispatch system in place to connect customers with the appropriate interpreter with minimal delay.
• Video interpretation is an on-demand, time-saving alternative to onsite interpretation for a variety of languages, but especially useful for American Sign Language (ASL).
Proposals for TIS-0493 are due by November 3, 2026.
