The vendor is required to provide that dispute resolution and small claims advisory services to aid parties in resolving their disputes without the necessity of formal judicial proceedings.
1. In-court mediation services
• Trained mediation staff available for day of court mediation for small claims and unlawful detainer matters.
2. Court based referrals/community-based mediation services
• Availability of mediation staff either onsite with the court’s self-help center or locally within the area to be able to provide services to:
i. Court referrals for mediation in small claims, unlawful detainer and family law personal property division disputes;
ii. Assistance with resolving disputes that have not yet entered the court system.
iii. Community based disputes such as those between neighbors, some domestic disputes, consumer-merchant disputes, and other kinds of disputes in which the parties have continuing relationships.
3. Funding source – Community based mediation services are funded through statutorily derived increases in filing fees imposed in civil, family law and probate cases; the total amount to be paid out exceed the amount of fees collected by the court pursuant to the relevant statutory authority.
