- Primary tasks
• 24/7 access to mental health counseling and substance use support.
• Assessment and diagnostic services to identify the nature and complexity of presenting concerns and determine appropriate supportive services.
• Short-term counseling services delivered via video, phone, or in-person modalities, typically addressing concerns within one to three sessions,
• Substance abuse professional (SAP) services, including those required under federal department regulations and non-dot services when warranted.
• Critical incident response services, including onsite debriefing and defusing following county identified critical incidents that pose significant risk to employee or organizational well-being.
• Supervisor and manager consultation services, provided by appropriately credentialed professionals (e.g., licensed clinical social workers, industrial-organizational psychologists, or other social sciences professionals), to support conflict management, performance concerns, employee behavior, and troubled work teams through coaching, counseling, or conflict resolution techniques.
• Training and continuing education services for employees and leaders to (a) increase awareness and utilization of EAP services, and (b) provide learning and development offerings on topics such as resiliency, stress management, mindfulness, team effectiveness, and related workplace challenges, in partnership with the county’s employee health promotion program and learning and development center.
