The vendor required to provide website redesign, development and modernization services for include:
1. Discovery and planning
• Conduct audience and stakeholder research, workshops, and journey mapping.
• Define detailed project requirements and functional specifications.
• Develop wireframes and mock-ups of the proposed design (up to 4 rounds of revisions for each).
• Establish network and security architecture for the new site.
• Create a visual style guide that reflects the town of brand.
• Collaborate with tom leadership to finalize the project plan, timeline, and detailed scope.
2. Design and development
• Develop the website based on the approved design, including all templates and widgets and plug-ins.
• Implement an extensive content management system (CMS) with drag-and-drop authoring.
• Design and develop a user-friendly and intuitive site structure and navigation.
• Integrate specified third-party applications
• Buildout core features: dynamic homepage, banner announcements, pop-up boxes, "kitchen sink" widgets, newsroom, advanced calendar, photo gallery, online forms, bid and proposal posting, document center, staff directory, etc.
• Develop specialized page templates, including departmental microsites (police, fire-rescue, parks and recreation, public library, experience and engagement) with unique branding and functionality as specified.
• Implement WCAG 2.1 aa accessibility compliance.
• Configure SEO, AEO, analytics (GA4), and reporting features (i.e., looker studio).
• Establish a DeVos CI/CD pipeline for continuous development and maintenance.
• Usability testing for end users and the client.
3. Content migration and creation
• Migrate existing content (text, pdfs, images) from the current AWS database and media directory to the new site.
• Assist in content strategy including integration of documents, and media, as needed.
• Organize and tag all content according to the established taxonomy.
• Provide meta descriptions and alt tags for all page and media content.
4. Testing and quality assurance
• Conduct thorough internal testing (functional, performance, security, accessibility).
• Provide a test site for tom internal review and approval.
5. Deployment and launch
• Implement a comprehensive redirect strategy from existing URLs to new ones.
• Deploy the new website to the production environment.
• Conduct post-launch verification.
- Training and post-launch support
• Provide comprehensive training and documentation for specified internal users (content editors, administrators).
• Offer ongoing maintenance and support services, security patches, further development, integration of future plug-ins, and accessibility remediation, including technical issue ticketing.
• Conduct regular meetings (monthly, bi-monthly, weekly) with tom project staff for updates, feedback, strategy, and DeVos.
• Provide recommendations for hosting, backups, downtime, upgrades, technical support, and security.
