The vendor required to provide accessibility consulting, assessment, remediation, and documentation expertise to support compliance with the web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level aa and associated standards.
- Accessibility assessments:
• Providing guidance for standardized criteria for word, pdf, video and other documents for WCAG 2.1 level aa compliance.
• Identifying issues related to WCAG 2.1 level aa success criteria, including but not limited to structure, headings, lists, tables, table header associations, links, images, charts, graphics, form field labeling, bookmark creation, language attributes, removal of artifacts, OCR correction for scanned documents, color contrast, and reading order.
• Evaluating document conversion workflows.
• Providing written findings and solutions to ensure accessible documents for WCAG 2.1 level aa compliance.
- Document remediation services:
• Remediate electronic documents of varying complexities (i.e., microsoft word, adobe pdf, microsoft ppt presentation files, and microsoft excel spreadsheet files) to meet WCAG 2.1 level aa requirements, including tagging, reading order, tables, forms, color contrast, table head associations, fillable fields, bookmark creations, language attributes, removal artifacts, and alt text.
• Validate remediated documents using assistive technologies (e.g., common look and jaws screen reader).
• Provide reports that accompany each remediated document verifying compliance with WCAG 2.1 level aa and will withstand a department of audit.
- Recommendations and best practices:
• Provide strategic guidance on creating accessible electronic documents (i.e., microsoft word, pdf), including structure, tagging and conversion.
• Provide best practices for tracking remediated documents and version control.
• Identify common accessibility risks.
• Provide clear and actionable remediation recommendations that comply with WCAG 2.1 level aa.
- Training and ongoing support
• Provide virtual training sessions and associated documentation.
• Assistance with developing a standardized operating model, compliance criteria and tracking.
