The Vendor is required to provide for a part-time full stack WordPress developer to provide an assessment of our sites, give feedback for improvements, and collaborate with our hosting vendor pantheon.
- The developer will support various aspects of the schools website environment including design, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring, and security of websites as directed by the schools web services team.
- Responsibilities:
• Experience developing and maintaining WordPress multisite
• Recommend solutions and collaborate with schools web services team to maintain sites and solve technical issues
• Support DevOps processes around testing, deployment and release management, and uptime issues; setup and tuning of monitoring systems including thousand eyes, new relic, and solar winds.
• Configure and maintain WordPress CMS for security and performance
• Maintain version control for WordPress core, themes, 3rd party plugins for performance and security
• Reporting and measurement: status reporting, performance measurement, and retrospectives
• Create, maintain, and backup databases
• Participate in planning and execution of tasks related to the evaluation of new website-based initiatives including new feature development or troubleshooting existing features (upgraded versions, third-party solutions, integration with additional enterprise systems)
• Ensuring cross-platform compatibility, responsive design, and performance analysis and optimization
• Communicating effectiveness of emerging technologies to decision makers
• Ensuring security, maintenance, and scalability when developing solutions
• Knowledge of WordPress security and WP plugin security.
• Support patching WP/WP plugins on a regular cadence (or as needed based on risks presented by disclosed vulnerabilities)
• Ensuring accessibility WCAG 2.1aa.
