Website Build and Design Services

The Vendor is required to provide to design and build a new website.
- The new website should have:
• Improved site navigation and functionality for visitors, providing a streamlined experience that is mobile-friendly and responsive
• A modern look that prioritizes accessibility throughout the website
• Improved content management, with a back-end content moderation workflow that includes review options prior to publication and ensures editors create pages in an organized way that adheres to our brand and style
• A publications archive, where visitors can easily search for and download our publications
• An integrated hub for our digital magazine, which is currently housed at website, as well as improved functionality for our blogs
• A media database to organize the media (images, videos, files) we use on the website (current site has a media database, so this would be a functionality update)
• Databases for research projects and funded students and PIs (current site has these databases, so this would be a functionality update)
• An updated online store, where visitors may purchase books and merchandise (current site has an online store, so this would be a functionality update).
- System: The contractor should design the website with the Drupal (open source) platform.
- The proposed system should provide our site maintainers and content managers with intuitive, easy-to-use user interfaces.
- Design and implementation must conform to industry standards for openness and interoperation with other software applications, databases, and platforms.
- Hosting: Pantheon hosting through the University group account.
- Subscription level: Basic, which includes composer-based dev, test, and live environments that are pushed through git repos.
- Develop the visual design and aesthetic elements of the website, including templates for various content types (reusing current content-types, where it makes sense) that will be used across the website.
