A government agency in Georgia issued “Interactive Web Mapping and Dashboard Application Development” (RFP). Solicitation WDDS-0672 closes on November 6, 2026. Eligibility: USA Organization. Submissions via Email.
Interactive Web Mapping and Dashboard Application Development
- DataNexus replacement. We currently have a demographic and socioeconomic web mapping and data analysis tool that we would like to replicate and/or improve on in a different platform. This should be a public-facing geospatial data exploration and analytics platform, designed such that new indicators, datasets, geographic layers, and visualization configurations can be easily added through administrative workflows without requiring changes to the underlying application code.
• Interactive mapping application with multiple Census, legislative, local and other geographies available for mapping and analysis
• Maps are customizable for basemaps (including aerial imagery), color ramps and binning method, and can be exported in multiple graphics formats and PDF.
• Seamless access to 1000+ demographic, education, health and economic indicators from local, state and national sources summed to each geography and available for mapping and exploration.
• Sort, filter, select, zoom, pan, and other basic GIS/data manipulation capabilities
• Configurable charts appropriate to the data type, sortable tables, selected-geography summaries, and the ability to move seamlessly between map, chart, and tabular representations.
• Scatterplot function that allows for exploration of multiple variables, with an interactive component between the map and scatterplot (select/highlight/zoom).
• Histogram filtering and cross-variable analysis
• Human-readable field names pulled automatically from field aliases.
• Search function to quickly browse the library of variables at any geography level based on keyword, source, date, etc., add custom pick list to data tray (or equivalent), easily join to a new custom table and export as CSV or XLSX.
• Ability to download geography with joined table as new feature class in GDB format.
• Ability for users to add and visualize their own spatial and tabular data
• Metadata easily accessible for each indicator and layer
• Interoperability with Esri’s ArcGIS Online and Open Data platforms and services
• Unlimited end users — no viewer licenses
• Ability to save and restore session configuration using JSON or other downloadable file
• Fast, scalable architecture capable of handling big datasets and large numbers of indicators and geographies quickly and efficiently
• Secure administrative back-end interface for ARC staff to add or update datasets, create indicators, configure visualizations, manage metadata and geographic layers without developer intervention
• Accessible, responsive design, with an emphasis on usability for people with limited GIS or data-analysis experience.
• AI and MCP integration (preferred not required) – natural language variable and map queries, user guidance on available data, binning methods, etc.
- An interactive Regional Housing Dashboard that will serve as the public-facing implementation and
performance tracking tool for the Regional Housing Strategy. The dashboard should communicate regional
housing trends, allow users to explore conditions across the 11-county Atlanta region, and provide local
governments, elected officials, and the public with an accessible way to monitor progress toward regional
housing goals.
• Dashboard objectives:
o Present key regional housing indicators in a clear, public-friendly format.
o Track progress toward Regional Housing Strategy goals.
o Allow users to compare housing conditions across counties and municipalities.
o Display geographic housing information through interactive maps.
o Be designed so new metrics and datasets can be incorporated over time.
o Be responsive for desktop and mobile devices.
o Utilize data that can be updated on a recurring basis.
- Dashboard Components
o Regional overview –A landing page that summarizes major regional housing trends and key performance indicators. Potential measures include Housing production, permits, starts, affordability, cost burden, home prices, rents, household income, and progress toward regional housing goals. The dashboard should display trends over time where appropriate.
o County and Municipal Profiles - Interactive profiles allowing users to compare counties and municipalities throughout the region. Potential measures include Housing production, preservation, affordability, cost burden, Jobs-housing balance, Housing policy/certification adoption, transit accessibility, homelessness indicators (where available). Users should be able to sort, filter, and compare jurisdictions.
o Interactive Mapping - An interactive GIS-based map allowing users to visualize housing conditions and investments throughout the region. Potential map layers may include counties, municipalities, Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) areas, Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) areas, Tax Allocation Districts (TADs), Opportunity Zones, community land trusts, employment centers, transit and trail networks, and economic mobility tracts. Users should be able to click on map features to view summary housing information for that geography.
o Housing Strategy Tracking - The dashboard should support implementation of the Regional Housing Strategy by tracking progress toward adopted goals. Potential tracking elements include
regional production goals, housing preservation goals, housing-ready policy adoption, housing affordability metrics, and other implementation measures identified through the Regional
Housing Strategy.
o Data Visualization - The consultant should recommend appropriate visualization types, which may include interactive charts, trend lines, tables, scorecards, maps, and progress indicators. Downloadable data and graphics in multiple formats (JPG, PNG, PDF, etc).
o Data Sources - ARC anticipates providing many of the underlying datasets, including ARC housing permit data, Census/ACS data, HUD datasets, employment data, GIS boundary files, Livable Centers Initiative data, housing policy information, and other publicly available housing datasets. The consultant should identify any additional data requirements and recommend approaches for automating updates where feasible.
