The vendor is required to provide comprehensive housekeeping independent auditing and reporting services to all authority sites including all acute and adjoining LTC.
- The housekeeping quality audit program will:
• Ensure a clean, safe and hygienic environment for patients, residents, staff and visitors; and
• Include certain support services, such as training and reporting to assist authority in the management and administration of the housekeeping quality audit.
- Authority encourages innovative solutions for auditing services that embrace the following primary objectives:
• The capability, capacity, and resources to provide comprehensive quality auditing services that would deliver best value for money to authority;
• Provide reliable services that meet the site mandatory auditing needs for auditing services and are in line with infection control practices (ICP);
• The authority administrative efforts through implementation of innovative and sustainable solutions, to improve quality of the services;
- Base services
• The service provider shall perform a housekeeping visual assessment audit in accordance with the current standards.
• Provide a consolidated report of authority facilities that includes trending and opportunities for improvement.
• In the event that the list of facility rooms is incorrect or incomplete, the service provider shall audit such additional facility rooms at no cost difference to authority.
• The service provider audit is to be conducted as a visual audit only.
• The service provider audit conducted is to be strictly a housekeeping quality audit, not a facility audit.
• The auditor will focus solely on elements within the scope of housekeeping services that are cleaned by the housekeeping department.

• Photocopy rooms
• Rooms that house animals
• Storage rooms
• Health records
• Interstitial space
• Parkade deck
• Restricted areas
• External surrounds
• Housekeeping offices, supplies and equipment storage rooms, housekeeping rooms (closets) located in departments and units
• Landscaping
• Laundry
o Storage rooms or areas
o Laundry production area
o Linen storage carts and shelving
• Waste management areas including:
o Recycling area
o Garbage area
o Hazardous waste
• Stores
o Supply rooms.
o Storage rooms
o Receiving areas and loading dock
o Other areas affiliated with stores department
• Maintenance rooms, for example
o Electrical rooms
o FMO shops
o Or areas and rooms affiliated with FMO department.
o Telephone rooms
o Electrical rooms
o Boiler rooms
o Mechanical rooms
• Audits are not the be performed on units or rooms that are placed under outbreak precaution.
