The vendor is required to provide security services for include:
- Management and personnel
• Responsibility of the proposer to provide adequate training for each employee.
• Job orientation and training shall be subject to review and approval of the department.
• The proposer is also responsible for providing proper and sufficient security checks on each employee.
• Emergency office location- the awarded contractor is to maintain an office, on or off site, to be approved by the city in order to effectively respond to emergency calls.
• Uniforms- all employees are to be fully uniformed.
• Provide at least uniforms to each employee.
• Equipment- all proposers are to examine and rate the city’s internal security system, cameras and monitors, etc., and include their use as part of this proposal.
• Recommendations may be made by the proposer to upgrade the city’s video security system, but it is not the purpose of this rfp to include any costs of upgrading the city’s system.
• Incident reports- it will be the duty of the contractor to submit written reports to the director of facilities and sustainability concerning accidents, injury to persons in the building (s), acts of vandalism or unusual activities via online system.
• Recording of tours of duty- where possible and practical the contractor will employ a wand and touch-point computer technique or access control swipe to ensure that guards and other personnel patrol stairwells, the garage and those floors with heavy traffic.
• Background checks outside of standard licensing background check- a standard background check is required.
• The city should not be expected to pay for this standard security guard requirement.
