The Vendor is required to provide unarmed security services at the center.
- Staffing requirements:
• The center operates three (3) eight (8) hour shifts per day, 7 days per week. The shift hours are as follows:
o 5:45am – 2:15pm cst
o 1:45 pm – 10:15pm cst
o 9:45pm – 6:15am cst
• Proposer will staff each shift as follows:
o 5:45am – 2:15pm cst: (8) security officers and (1) security specialist
o 1:45pm – 10:15pm cst: (6) security officers and (1) security specialist
o 9:45pm – 6:15am cst: (4) security officers and (1) security specialist
• A management representative from proposer must be available for contact by center leadership 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
• Other duties as assigned.
- Personnel requirements
1. Unarmed security officer
• Permanent employee registration card (perc) issued by the department of financial and professional regulation
• 20-hour security officer basic training certificate
• Citizenship or documented authorization to work in the country.
• 21 years of age at the time of application submission.
• Effectively listen, understand, and communicate in English (verbally and in writing).
• Prioritize competing demands and to be flexible, creative, proactive and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Establish trust and cooperation.
• Ability to establish trust and cooperation in juveniles while maintaining an appropriate level of professionalism, assertiveness and leadership.
• Work effectively under stressful conditions and emergency situations.

• Ability to move desks, beds and other furniture to conduct security checks.
• To step up on elevated surfaces, such as beds or stools, to conduct room searches.
• Reaching, bending, and stooping to perform security checks, housekeeping and other tasks.
• Extended periods of walking throughout the facility.
• Extended periods of standing.
• Physically restrain residents under adverse conditions, including the ability to manage weights of 75lbs. to 200 lbs. when restraining adolescents.
• Proficient in situation de-escalation and in physical restraint techniques.
• Respond to emergency situations according to center policies, procedures and protocols.
• Effectively hear and respond to 10 codes through the intercom and radio transmission monitoring system.
• Trainees will be taught the meaning of codes during center training.
• Lifting and carrying containers for meals, laundry bags and other items weighing up to 35lbs.
2. Unarmed security specialist
• Permanent employee registration card (perc) issued by the department of financial and professional regulation
• 20 hour security officer basic training certificate
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Minimum one (1) year previous supervisory experience.
• A demonstrated level of proficiency in Microsoft office adequate to generate reports.
• Citizenship or documented authorization to work in the country.
• 21 years of age at the time of application submission.
• Ability to effectively listen, understand, and communicate in English (verbally and in writing)
