Employment and Labor Legal Counsel Services

The Vendor is required to provide labor and employment legal services on an as-needed and special projects basis.
- Retain legal counsel for current and past issues to ensure compliance and risk mitigation; labor and employment legal counsel will work with the director of human resources, labor relations, and chief executive officer or designees on designated matters
- Agency will allow the attorneys to represent dealings with agency in litigation; the contractor shall supply counsel on various subjects including but not limited to:
• Legal services on matters from hire to termination,
• Flash wage and hourly issues,
• Reasonable accommodation and disability management including FMLA, ADA, worker’s compensation, and L&I,
• Internal investigations, harassment and discrimination, separation agreements, discrimination, and wrongful discharge suits,
• Public sector labor law, including grievance arbitration, interest arbitration, contract negotiations, and related matters before perc,
• Public sector benefit law, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, and related state and federal matters and as well as unemployment appeals.
- To ensure continuity of service, the firm shall establish a program for the provision of services in the event one attorney is not available; the firm shall establish and maintain a process for identifying actual or perceived conflicts of interest situations.
