Outside Legal Services

The vendor is required to provide outside legal service on an as-requested basis on behalf of the city in personal injury actions, civil rights lawsuits, zoning lawsuits, condemnation, breach of contract actions, construction disputes, article 78, employment litigation, collective bargaining negotiation or arbitration proceedings, bankruptcy claims or litigation, as well as in to provide other legal services in coordination with the city of legal department.
- The legal services and duties to be performed and provided to the city by the awarded proposer(s) in the above-referenced litigation matters and claims include, but are not limited to:
•    Preliminary investigation of claims against the city;
•    Preparation of pleadings;
•    Conducting discovery and depositions;
•    Attendance at all prehearing conferences and hearings;
•    Preparing pre-trial motions;
•    Conducting trials;
•    Preparation of regular status reports, and attendance at case reviews, minimally, on a quarterly basis;
•    Updates and presentations to city council, as requested;
•    Filing notices of appeal, where necessary.
