Legal Services

The Vendor is required to provide individual attorneys interested in providing legal services to the city, particularly in the areas of general municipal law, land use and zoning law, municipal labor law, utility law, and freedom of information.
- Legal services is coordinated through the mayor and may only be requested by the mayor and city council in accordance with established council policy.
- Legal services include:
•    Review of proposed ordinances and regulations
•    Review and interpretation of state and federal laws and regulations
•    Land use
•    Construction and consulting agreements and services
•    Land acquisition purchase and sale agreements, closings, etc. Does not involve direct negotiation.
•    Representation in claims against and by the city
•    All other matters typically associated with municipal government operations
•    Other services as may be directed by the mayor and/or city council
•    Labor/employee relations and union contract negotiation.
