• Social media
• Trademark advice and representation,
• Multi-media works,
• Software, SAS arrangements, and database licensing; and
• Other intellectual property issues as they arise.
• Application and renewal of FCC licenses;
• Compliance with FCC laws, rules, and regulations;
• Advice regarding copyright, first amendment, defamation and other general legal problems peculiar to the ownership and operation of television and radio stations, as well as for the production, acquisition, and distribution of program material;
• Location agreements
• Media rights agreements.
- Regulatory public utility:
• Taxation, including UBIT and tax-exempt organization advice, and deferred compensation matters;
• Federal cost reimbursement;
• Other governmental regulatory issues as they arise, including utility matters.
- Research and research compliance:
• Compliance with federal requirements relating to human and animal subject research, research fraud, and conflicts of interest;
• Compliance with federal regulations governing research on and use and transmittal of biohazardous materials;
• Public and private partnerships, including establishing joint ventures and consortia;
• Grants, contract, and cooperative agreement terms and conditions and disputes;
• Export control laws and assistance obtaining licenses;
• Bayh-dole compliance; and
• Undue foreign influence and cui matters.

• Human subjects research compliance, including compliance

- Immigration:
• Draft pleadings and documents for labor certification applications, visa petitions, applications for permanent residency, etc.;
• Issues involving adjustment of status, deportation, etc.;
• Consult on an as-needed basis, on the status of immigration and naturalization laws, the regulations and the applicability of such laws and regulations to the university, its faculty, staff, and students,
• Provide workshops or programs for foreign students, staff, and faculty at no cost to the university provided that the university will pay for duplicating written materials, and
• The university on regulatory and legal changes related to immigration law.
- Labor law:
• Provide advice and counsel with respect to negotiations with organized labor and collective bargaining agreements;
• Advise, counsel and represent on compliance with public employee bargaining act;
• Advise, counsel and represent relative to prohibited practice charges; and
• Advise, counsel and represent the university in mediations, arbitrations, and court and other proceedings related to disputes arising from collective bargaining agreement grievance and arbitration procedures.
- Employment and civil rights:
• Advise on employee benefits, tax, fair labor standards act; and other federal and state employment statutes;
• Investigate and advise on civil rights employment matters;
• Advise and represent on whistleblower and qui tam actions, actions of equitable relief and other actions not covered by state risk; and
• Breach of contract – advise, counsel and represent.

• Representation of academic medical centers and faculty practice organizations;
• Compliance and regulatory counsel;
• Health care transactions and contracting (including physician, physician organization, and managed care contracting);
