The vendor required to provide legal services as they are requested by department.
- Procurement and contract law
• Providing legal advice and counsel on contract issues that may arise under shared technology services (STS), data center services (DCS), as well as other department contracts;
• Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating information resources contracts, including contracts for information technology hardware, software and services, and amendments thereto; and
• Advising management and attorneys on legal strategies to best protect department in information resources transactions.
- General pre-litigation matters
• Providing representation and legal advice during pre-litigation for complex matters including, but not limited to state public information act litigation, act litigation, employment litigation, intellectual property litigation, and bid protest litigation.
- Intellectual property law
• Providing representation and advice regarding intellectual property matters, including, but not limited to preparing, filing, prosecuting, and maintaining patent applications in the country and other countries; securing copyright protection; preparing, filing, and prosecuting applications to register trademarks and service marks in the country and other countries; trade secrets; complex licensing transactions; and all other related matters.
- Technology law
• Provide legal advice and counsel and assist in negotiations for major IT managed services outsourcing initiatives that may occur with department telecommunications, shared technology services, and other department contracts.
