The vendor required to provide legal services as detailed below, as needed by the agency.
• Provide legal advice, counsel, consultation and opinions for district in-person, virtually, by telephone, e-mail or in writing.
• Provide customary legal services to district as requested.
• Any necessary opinions, letter rulings or other documentation on legal matters impacting district and provide advice on a prudent or essential course of action.
- Advise on compliance with existing state and federal laws and the issuance of advisory memorandums regarding proposed and new laws.
- Counsel and participate in real estate agreements; funding agreements; service agreements; easements agreements; ownership agreements; agreements for use; leases; inter-local agreements; and their related transactions.
- Counsel and participate in any other legal affairs of interest to the operation of the authority.
- General counsel typical duties (including but not limited to):
• Provide general legal advice.
• Maintain knowledge of issues facing transit and be prepared to offer legal opinions.
• Contracts and agreements- as needed prepare, review, consult, and approve.
• Board of directors’ actions- review and approve legislative documents.
• Work with another assigned district counsel (when necessary).
• Attend work sessions and meetings with board and staff when requested.
• Report to and receive assignments from the chief executive officer or their delegate.
• Assign general counsel tasks and counsel is authorized to respond to those inquiries as well.
• Provide billing broken down by assignment and inquiry.
