The Vendor is required to provide outside legal counsel to provide legal services on an as needed basis.
- Selected outside legal counsel will assist the County Attorney’s Office and other authorized County officials with assigned matters across various areas of law, including litigation, legal advice, and other support requiring specialized expertise or additional resources.
- Services may include providing legal advice, conducting legal research, preparing legal memoranda and pleadings, representing the County in administrative proceedings or court, and coordinating with the County Attorney’s Office and other County officials as appropriate.
- Responsibilities:
• Issue assignment letters for all legal services performed under the contract through the County Attorney’s Office.
• Provide Counsel with available records, reports, and other documents relevant to assigned matters.
• Coordinate with County departments, elected officials, Risk Management, insurance carriers, and other representatives as necessary.
• Review and approve requests for depositions, experts, consultants, or other case-related expenditures when prior authorization is required.
• Provide direction on litigation strategy, settlement authority, and case decisions through the County Attorney’s Office.
• Review and pay approved invoices for authorized services performed under an assignment letter in accordance with contract terms.

- Range of Services. Depending on assignment, services may include:
