The Vendor is required to provide a full range of legal services related to employee benefits including retirement and pension plans keeping abreast of changes to applicable laws and regulations and make recommendations to ensure the airports authority remains in compliance.
- Requirement:
1. Retirement committee
• Must attend quarterly and occasional ad hoc retirement committee meetings.
• Must be prepared to make clear, concise and informative presentations at such meetings.
• Provide the retirement committee with guidance on compliance; review and draft plan documents to assure compliance with applicable federal and state laws.
• Undertake investigations into matters identified by the retirement committee and prepare reports and presentations as requested.
2. Legal opinions
• Provide written legal opinions, as requested by the airports authority, on questions of law or regulation related to retirement and pension plans and employee benefits plans.
• Monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations and advise and assist the airports authority in relation to such issues.
3. Plan administrative manual
• Advise and assist the airports authority’s legal and human resources staff and advisors with revisions to the plan administrative manual.
4. Audit or government investigation
• Advise and assist in responding to any audit or governmental investigation into the pension plans and employee benefits plans.
5. Other legal services
• Review and advise legal, benefits and human resources staff on domestic relations orders.
• Provide lost participant search capability to comply with plan procedures and administrative requirements.
• Provide other retiree or employee related legal services as may be requested by the airports authority.
