General Legal Counsel Services

The Vendor is required to provide legal services requested by the administration and board of regents.
- Requirement:
• Litigation in state and federal courts;
• Representation of university before state and federal regulatory agencies;
• Advising university on issues related to the laws affecting higher education;
• Advising university on matters related to commercial transaction and other contractual relationships; including insurance.
• Tax (particularly issues involving university tax-exempt status);
• Real estate transactions;
• Trusts, estates, and gifts;
• Labor and employment law, including civil rights and collective bargaining;
• Advising university on matters related to distribution of mill levies and revenue bonds, bonds which may be issued by the school districts or other tax districts relating to university, and other bond matters that may arise.
• Any legal issues not listed that may involve university.
