Immigration Legal Services

The Vendor is required to provide immigration legal services will be provided primarily through a legal help desk, staffed by multiple contractors, which will offer virtual appointments for immigration legal advice and limited legal services following the help desk appointment.
- Limited legal services to be completed during follow-up appointments will include, without limit, assistance filing work authorization applications, changes of address, pro se asylum applications, and other similar applications.
- Required activities
1. Help desk services
• The legal help desk is a virtual help desk, accessed via phone or online web platform (e.g. Zoom, web-ex etc.) Through which licensed immigration attorneys provide legal advice, and limited legal assistance.
• Individuals who meet basic eligibility criteria, who are seeking immigration legal advice schedule appointments with an attorney on the help desk, and have the option for additional follow-up to complete limited assistance for their case.
• Immigration attorney will staff the help desk at least one day per week. For the remaining working days, the attorney will provide limited legal services for eligible immigrants following up from the help desk appointments or as otherwise required for the program.
• The help desk will in part, serve as a supplement to the legal representation provided through the program, providing immediate consultation and assistance to immigrants and addressing non-detention related immigration legal issues.
2. Full representation to support alternatives to work authorization
• The alternative pathways to work authorization will include full representation to file asylum applications, file a motion to reopen removal orders, represent in removal proceedings and similar immigration work.
• Bidders that wish to include this optional service in their bid proposal will incorporate the additional immigration legal capacity into their programmatic and cost.
