- Requirement:
1. Grant management and compliance support
• Writing and submitting required progress reports and financial reports to funding agency in a timely manner
• Facilitating meetings with project partners and the funding agency
• Monitoring project progress, metrics, and reporting
• Maintaining detailed, accurate and well-organized documentation to ensure port is prepared for any required financial audits or compliance reviews
• Providing technical assistance and managing reporting requirements for grant subrecipients, if necessary
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state and agency regulations
• Provide training on roles, responsibilities and specific requirements of a grant
• Conducting regular internal audits to proactively identify and address potential issues
• Overseeing grant closeout process in compliance with grant requirements
• Identifying problematic issues and propose solutions, as necessary
2. Grant funding strategy development and implementation
• Conducting targeted research to identify and organize relevant funding opportunities
• Developing strategies to secure funding which may include:
o Identifying appropriate projects for public funding
o Facilitating meetings with funding agencies
o Cultivating partnerships with other organizations whose participation could strengthen proposals
• Creating a funding pipeline and calendar
• Reviewing the port’s existing capital improvement program to identify environmental projects or portions of projects that may be candidates for grant funding
3. Grant application preparation and submittal
• Identifying the project, including the components likely to be successful
• Determining eligibility and review requirements
• Facilitating meetings with project partners
• Developing project budget consistent with the grant program’s requirements
• Writing the content of the grant application and completing all forms, including narratives, budget spreadsheets, technical and design data and drawings, project scope, and all supporting documentation.
• Collecting support letters and other documents
• Identifying any proposal technical data review needs
• Performing quantitative analyses, including any necessary calculations
• Assembling the completed packet
• The grant application, handling all submission steps (e.g., registering on grants.gov, uploading files) and managing any required pre-submission communications
• Monitoring award status and assist with any follow-up information or documentation as needed.
