The Vendor is required to provide advertising services to the county zoo.
- It moved to is current 192-acre location in 1958; it is now home to over 2,000 animals and is one of the leading family attractions in state with over 1.25 million visitors a year.
- In addition to providing outstanding care to its animals, the Zoo provides entertainment by hosting over 20 family-friendly events.
- Marketing and Communications Director as well as the Zoo Director include Services:
• Create marketing and advertising campaigns for general branding, special events, special exhibits, online admission tickets, and promotions to attract over 1.27 million guests annually to the zoo.
• Develop public awareness that the zoo is a year-round destination, for all ages, in various markets throughout state, northern state and other areas as determined; attract new, existing, and diverse guests, create advertising in multiple languages if necessary.
• Create and produce advertising materials for outdoor, digital, print, radio, etc. and develop marketing strategies, event logos, taglines, brand style guides, etc. campaigns will be coordinated with the zoo’s email newsletters, social media, signage, earned media, etc.
• Media planning, buying and placement will be coordinated by the agency and approved by marketing and communications staff; actual advertising schedule costs come from a separate budget and will be billed directly to the county zoo; therefore, there will be no agency commission.
- Planned media expenditures in 2025 is $605,000.00; the amount might change and is not guaranteed.
