The vendor required to provide storytelling and photography services for custom content creation for tourism industry partners who participate in the state joint marketing program.
- Joint marketing program
• The joint marketing program provides tourism industry partners with access to professional content creation marketers and media experts, and vetted advertising channels that create awareness, inspire visitation, deliver data-driven results, and grow visitation to destinations and attractions throughout state.
• The program is offered on a fiscal year basis (July 1 – June 30).
• The program will be presented to the state tourism industry in the March and April time frame to allow for program registration, partner consultations, and campaign planning.
• Partner investment will be augmented by agency contribution, which has recently been 25% to 50%.
• The contractor will be expected to collaborate, innovate, and partner with agency, industry partners throughout the state, and the google paid search and paid meta vendor partner.
- Custom storytelling responsibilities
• Partners to present their unique perspective on their destination to engage audiences with inspirational stories by producing assets needed to promote a destination, attraction, or event, including:
o Custom story, approximately 1,200 words
o A full-day on-site photo shoot that includes 12 color-corrected, hi-res photos
o Custom landing page, reflective of each partner branding, that invites the reader to engage with photos and links and is developed in responsive design for optimal viewing on mobile, tablet, and desktop
o Final website files to each partner to upload to their website
• Responsible for kickoff and discovery call with a partner to uncover the main themes the partner wishes to highlight, identify the target audience, develop the story outline, gain alignment of outline, write the story, and provide proofing and editing opportunities for both the partner and agency.
• The contractor will vet and hire professional state -based writers who are familiar with state tourism destinations and experiences, and who are committed to researching content, writing, editing, proofreading, fact-checking, and ensuring the complete accuracy of all editorials to tell an authentic, original, compelling story.
• Negotiate all rights to the story; partner owns the story and can use and reuse however they wish.
• Agency is free to use the content, too.
• Agency anticipates fewer than 10 storytelling partners.
- Custom photography responsibilities
• Provides partners with access to professional photography services to capture quality photo assets that can be used in any way the partner or agency desires, such as storytelling, social media, website, print, digital advertising, etc.
• Provide partners with an art director who will assist the partner in identifying desired photo assets, locations, and plan the shoot schedule.
• Provide agency with a list of 10 to 12 professional state photographers for approval. once approved, partner participants will select their preferred photographer from this list to conduct their shoot. the photography style will align with agency branding.
• Two photography options will be offered that include 100% buy-out of photos for unlimited use:
o One-day shoot: includes 12 hi-res, color-corrected photos, digital files, and a contact sheet containing all photos.
o Two-day shoot: includes 24 hi-res, color-corrected photos, digital files, and a contact sheet containing all photos.
