The vendor required to provide youth media in the creation of video content for airing on the various media platforms of the county's public, education and government (peg) channels.
- Requirement:
• Recruit, train and supervise youth in the production of all media.
• Work with youth to develop and execute their ideas for media.
• Supervise the youth's creation of media, ensuring that the youth are the primary creators and that all media produced are of a length and quality suitable to be aired on the county peg channels.
• The intent of this RFP is not to pay youth for the creation of content.
• Provide the production and post-production locations and all equipment necessary for creation of media content and must ensure that the equipment is used safely and appropriately by the youth.
• Obtain any necessary permits, talent releases, copyright permissions or other legal permissions to air content on cable and social platforms.
• Provide language translation services in support of video products, such as, the creation of a video with Spanish language speakers instead of english.
• Possible content topics include but are not limited to:
o Racial equity and inclusiveness
o Academic achievement gap and early childhood education
o Economic development activities and job training
o Pedestrian safety and safe neighborhoods
o Food insecurity
o Green initiatives
o Youth concerns and issues
o Easier commutes
- Senior or executive level manager
• Provides overall management of project, staff and serves as point of contact with the county.
• Individuals under this labor category must have three years of experience managing video production projects that involve youth content.
- Lead video instructors
• Directly teach youth, manage production planning and execution of planned project activities.
• Individuals under this labor category must have a minimum of three years of experience instructing youth in video production, managing productions or planning project activities.
- Program assistants
• Provide videography, editing, mentorship and other support as needed.
• Individuals must have at a minimum three years of experience editing videography, mentorship of youth in a media setting or other media assistance.
• Education requirements: two-year degree in a related field or an additional three years equivalent experience in video and tv production.
- Junior support and intern support
• Provides additional low-level video production support, i.e., setup and break down technical environment, basic labor, and some direct video capture and editing assistance.
• Individuals under this labor category will have 0-3 years of experience in supporting a video production team.
• Education requirements: interns must be full-time high-school or college student.
