- Asset management
• Review current asset management practices, including inventory and condition monitoring.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the existing asset management plans (if available).
• Assess age, lifecycle, and remaining useful life of key infrastructure assets.
• Identify assets requiring replacement, rehabilitation, or upgrades.
• Establish prioritization for asset renewal based on condition, criticality, and risk.
• Provide recommendations on the improvement of the town and municipality’s respective asset management programs and practices.
• Provide recommendations for a future study to evaluate climate resilience and risk to water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Current state of repair
• Assess the existing water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Review previous repair history and ongoing maintenance schedules.
• Assess the frequency and impact of maintenance issues or failures.
• Field inspection of complex infrastructure including lift stations, water booster stations, water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant, and reservoirs.
• Identify and document any areas of significant deterioration, damage, or malfunction.
• Evaluate the condition of key components (pipes, pumps, treatment plants, etc.).
• Recommend areas for further field inspection (e.g., flushing and cctv, etc.).
• Provisional: coordination and review of flushing and cctv inspections based on recommended areas for further inspection.
- Recommended improvements
• Identify areas requiring infrastructure upgrades to meet future demand and regulatory compliance standards.
• Propose system modifications to increase capacity where needed (e.g., pipeline upgrades, new pump stations, expanded treatment facilities).
• Recommend improvements to enhance system resilience, including climate change adaptation.
• Develop a phased implementation plan for recommended upgrades.
• Suggest modernization of asset management practices (e.g., use of digital tools, real-time monitoring).
• Provide a cost-benefit analysis for the proposed improvements, highlighting economic feasibility.
