The vendor is required to provide after-hours answering services are required for the following groups within the department of utilities: water distribution, wastewater, field engineering (miss utility).
- Hours answering services from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and twenty-four (24) hour answering service on weekends and city holidays.
- Providing excellent water and wastewater services is a twenty-four (24) hour, seven (7) day a week, three hundred sixty-five (365) day a year job.
- The contractor shall provide answering services for both emergency and non-emergency calls as defined below:
1. Emergency service requests – calls other than non-emergency service requests
• Water distribution
o Emergency cutoff
o Water main break
o Hydrant hit
o Meter leaks
o No water
o Utility-related Street cave-in
o Requests to initiate new service
• Wastewater
o Sewer overflow
o Sewer backup
o Pump station problems
o Utility-related Street cave-in
• Engineering
o Emergency utility marking
2. Non-emergency service requests - which shall be restricted to:
• Billing questions.
