The vendor is required to provide that accessibility and website support service to better serve our community.
- Digital accessibility support:
• Work with CMS (content management system) vendor to achieve compliance with accessibility requirements.
• Advise on best practices for ensuring ongoing accessibility across city website(s) and other digital platforms.
• Offer guidance and assistance to content managers and other staff on how to remediate content to adhere to digital accessibility guidelines.
• Utilize tools such as common look online to remediate existing content to meet accessibility guidelines.
- Implementation support for CMS:
• Work with the website vendor and internal content managers to provide internal implementation support throughout the implementation process.
• Under direction of the communications manager, support the overall planning, scheduling, and execution of the CMS implementation project, including all phases from discovery and selection to deployment and post-launch.
• Assist with reviewing existing website content, consolidating content and pages where appropriate. make recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Internal collaboration & engagement:
• Act as the subject matter expert for digital accessibility and work with internal stakeholders to achieve project objectives as defined by communications manager.
• Participate in regular meetings with internal communications team to discuss progress, issues, and solutions related to website accessibility.
• Support engagement efforts to determine the needs of internal stakeholders, including city staff and city council, throughout website implementation.
• Meet with internal stakeholders from each department to review, analyze, and make website content recommendations to ensure new website content is concise, consistent, and relevant.
- Reporting and documentation:
• Assist with development of quarterly accessibility progress reports in accordance with state law.
