The Vendor is required to provide remote order entry and verification services for medication orders at county.
- Responsible for verifying orders, answering clinical questions from healthcare providers and nursing staff, and performing minor dosing of vancomycin when necessary.
- Operational Hours
1. Inpatient pharmacy:
• Closed: 10 pm to 7 am (Monday to Friday)
• Closed: 6 pm to 7 am (weekends and holidays)
2. Community health system (CHS):
• Closed: 6 pm to 8 am (daily)
- Service availability
• Must be flexible and available to start services earlier than the stated hours when necessary.
- Order entry and verification
1. Must ensure accurate entry and verification of medication orders.
2. Compliance with state pharmacy law and regulations set forth by the board of pharmacy is mandatory.
3. Adhere to the clinical protocols and guidelines established by county health.
- Dosing of vancomycin
1. Must have qualified pharmacists capable of performing minor dosing of vancomycin based on specified protocols.
2. Must be familiar with current clinical guidelines for vancomycin dosing and monitoring.
- Clinical support
1. Provide clinical support to healthcare providers and nursing staff to answer medication-related inquiries.
2. Pharmacists must be available to provide timely and clinically sound recommendations and advice.
