The vendor is required to provide for completing an audit as required of the unemployment insurance trust fund for fiscal years 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029.
- The audit for 2027 May be both financial and single audit relating to the compliance requirements per the OMB compliance supplement that are applicable to the benefit payments and unemployment insurance reemployment portion of the UI program.
- The audit may change based on the previous year’s audit or the department of legislative audit’s risk assessment.
- The auditor’s report on internal control structure will include any reportable conditions and material weaknesses in the system of which the auditor becomes aware
- The auditor’s report on compliance matters will include any errors, irregularities, or illegal acts; violations of compliance obligations and other responsibilities imposed by state and federal statutes and regulations and assumed by contracts; and any state or federal grant questioned costs of which the auditor becomes aware.
- The auditors of the unemployment insurance trust fund will be considered component auditors, whose report will be referred to, for the group audit of the state’s annual comprehensive financial report and the state’s single audit.
- The independent public accounting firm is required to print reports and distribute them as promulgated in the auditor general's guidelines.
- The independent public accounting firm shall retain working papers for a minimum of five years from fieldwork date unless notified in writing by the cognizant federal agency or the auditor general to extend the minim retention period.
- Auditors are expected to spend time with reemployment assistance (formerly unemployment insurance) staff on location to review documents, examine data from the computer system, and ask necessary questions of staff.
- Staff have been going audits with similar requirements, where these staff are located, and whether these staff will be conducting the audit onsite, remotely, or both.
