The vendor is required to provide the purpose of the background research is to determine whether the individual is eligible to receive federal housing services from authority and must follow criminal screening guidelines as published by HUD in 24 cfr 982.4, 982.54, 982.551-53, 960.203, and 960.204, which outline grounds for denial or termination of assistance.
- Nationwide background records searches are applicable for all identified adults and must include the following:
• Criminal information for the past three years, which must list history of arrests and/or convictions, probation, and community service.
• Identification of persons subject to a lifetime sex offender registration.
• Credit report information, including landlord and eviction history.
- Authority anticipates an annual volume of about 10,000 background checks and 5,000 credit reports per year.
- Authority requests that you include in your response the cost of providing a total background check consisting of the three records searches outlined above, as well as an individual cost for each of the three records check components separately.
