The Vendor is required to provide comprehensive employee assistance program (EAP) services that include EAP counseling and ancillary wrap-around services to diverse employee populations across departments in the county.
- This program is intended to assist employees and their eligible dependents in dealing with personal issues, concerns, or needs related to employment and/or a critical incident that occurs, relationships, family issues, conflicts with employees, financial and legal concerns, substance abuse, emotional conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress, and grief, as well as other related matters that might adversely impact employees’ work performance, health, and/or well-being.
- The EAP may also aid in the event of a traumatic or life-threatening incident during work hours.
- Access to counseling services for the general county employee population will include counseling for stress, anxiety, grief, depression, and other mental health concerns, substance abuse, conflicts with family members and/or employees, relationship issues, and any other personal or employment-related issues, concerns, or needs.
- Designated first responders include county personnel in, but not limited to, law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services, hospital and nursing settings, emergency room personnel, public health workers, probation officers, social workers, and medical examiners.
- Critical incident stress management (CISM) services will include immediate and dedicated onsite support and follow-up services for county employees facing crises or traumatic events, such as deputy-involved shootings, co-worker injury or death, fatality incidents, crimes against or injury to children, seniors, and/or developmentally disabled individuals.
