RFP Description

The vendor is required to provide to ensure that the early learning environments are supportive of the mental and emotional well-being of young children, their families and early childhood educators, who may have experienced trauma.
- Equip educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to create safe and supportive learning environments within early childhood settings.
- Design and deliver a certification program on trauma-informed care for early childhood educators, including training materials, assessments, and certification upon successful completion.
- Early childhood educator’s trauma-informed advocate certificate program
• Develop a cadre of educators capable of championing trauma informed practices within their classrooms and broader educational settings.
• Provide a certificate program that trains early childhood educators to become advocates for trauma-informed practices, including a curriculum tailored to early learning environments.
- Staff wellness group therapy
• Address the emotional well-being of educators, foster resilience, and prevent burnout.
• Offer group therapy sessions aimed at supporting the mental health and resilience of educators.
• These sessions should focus on stress management, emotional well-being, and building resilience in response to trauma exposure.
- Individual counseling
• Provide personalized support for educators and, when appropriate, children facing trauma-related challenges.
• Offer individual counseling sessions for educators, and, when appropriate, children in early learning settings, focusing on trauma-related challenges.
- Support groups
• Create a community of shared experience and mutual support for early childhood professionals.
• Facilitate peer support groups that provide early childhood educators a space to share experiences and receive mutual support, guidance, and training in trauma-informed practices.
- Crisis response
• Offer immediate and effective intervention in the event of traumatic incidents affecting early childhood programs within the city area.
• Provide on-site crisis intervention and follow-up care to support educators and children after a traumatic incident.
• This should include a clearly defined crisis response plan and services to address immediate emotional and psychological needs.
