RFP Description

The vendor is required to provide for the installation of 47 wayfinding signs at strategic locations throughout the municipality.
- The 2025-26 wayfinding initiative aims to:
• Improve accessibility: make it easier for everyone to explore and enjoy our diverse attractions. 
• Boost tourism: attract more visitors to our heritage sites, recreational areas, and local businesses. 
• Enhance community pride: create a sense of place and belonging for residents.
- The installation of durable and visually appealing diabond signs, mounted on posts or square trellises, to be placed within the agency right-of-way
- For clarity, the contract will cover the installation of the signs including all necessary materials, equipment, and labor to complete the installations in a safe and legally compliant manner. 
- The signs will be provided by the municipality. 
- The signs will clearly indicate directions and distances to various destinations.
- Alongside our regular programs, we are actively pursuing initiatives that promote a sense of belonging and accessibility for all.
• Install of signposts for all signage identified within this document
• Securely attach the diabond signs—provided by the municipality—to the installed signposts
• Conduct a thorough site inspection of all locations listed in and illustrated on the accompanying wayfinding sign locations map, ensuring that:
o Motorist sightlines remain unobstructed
o Agency and other existing signage are not obstructed
o Signs are installed within the agency right-of-way, and where feasible, on the side of the ditch furthest from the roadway
o The appropriate type and length of signpost is selected based on soil and terrain conditions and size of the sign. 
o For example, it must be determined if square trellis versus 6in x 6in pressure-treated lumber is used to ensure proper installation.
o All arched signs (16in x 60in) will require two 6in x6in posts or two trellis posts whereas all 2ft x 3ft signs will only need one trellis post or one 6in x 6in post. 
o Ciy recreational complex signage will require 26 posts (2 per sign for 13 of them and 3 will not require any posts). 
o The type to be determined by the proponent.
• Procure all necessary materials, equipment, and labor to complete the work in a safe and legally
compliant manner
• Provide weekly progress updates to the municipality throughout the duration of the project.
