• Acceptance of “cash app” visa debit cards as well as visa and Mastercard credit cards.
• Implementation of a system where the administration does not directly enter into a banking relationship (e.g., the vendor acts as the merchant of record).
• Ensuring compliance with relevant payment industry standards and regulations.
• Providing a secure and reliable payment processing infrastructure that will process transactions in milliseconds both online and offline to minimize boarding times.
• The ability to interface the open loop payment system with the administration existing back-office solution.
• Providing fare capping.
• Preferably, the ability to integrate the open loop payment card reader within the administration existing fast fare farebox to avoid the need for external validators.
• Ensuring compatibility of the card readers with light rail platform validators and subway faregates from a variety of manufacturers.
