The Vendor is required to provide shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, equipment, transportation and qualified personnel to pick-up, transport, and dispose of all biohazardous medical waste, pathological waste, and pharmaceutical waste.
- Types of Waste
• Sharps waste – hypodermic needles, scalpel blades, pipettes, slides, vials, tubes, razors, glassware and broken glass shards.
• Packaging materials, gloves, and gowns associated with waste collection
• Needles, syringes, and other sharps
• Isolation waste
• Animal parts, tissues, fluids or carcasses contaminated with infectious agents know to be contagious to humans.
• Waste containing discarded materials contaminated with excretion, exudate, or secretions from humans or animals that are required to be isolated by infection control staff to protect others from highly communicable diseases or diseases of animal that are highly communicable to humans.
• Waste from production of bacteria, viruses, spores and culture dishes and devices used to transfer, inoculate, and mix cultures.
- Pickup schedule shall be between normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding Wednesdays and county observed holidays.
- If a holiday falls on a regularly scheduled pick-up day, contractor shall substitute with pick-up on Wednesday that week.
