The Vendor is required to provide senior social engagement supports services.
- Requirements will vary according to the program proposed by the applicant.
• Familiarity with aspects of successful social isolation prevention programs.
• A history of successful implementation, or clear plan for implementation of a social isolation prevention program; and
• A plan for recruitment and retention of participants to the proposed program.
• The needs and interests of a diverse population of older adults from different cultural, generational, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and with increasingly complex social and physical needs.
• Employ strategies to increase participation from older adults who do not regularly participate in health promotion or other social engagement activities, including, but not limited to those who do not have access to health promotion or other social engagement activities in their immediate neighborhood; or whose language and culture may present a challenge to participation;
• Build upon neighborhood strengths and community assets;
• Develop partnerships that leverage and fully utilize existing resources, and which are supported by diverse and sustainable funding streams; and
• Hire and retain quality staff and provide opportunities to develop local leaders/volunteers to support the delivery of programs to prevent social isolation among older adults.
