The Vendor is required to provide resources to address the increased mental health needs of students in grades 6-12 across state while allowing local control on partner selection and empowering parents to make the best decisions for their child.
- These grants aim to:
• Support schools in identifying and addressing appropriate mental health challenges early though evidence-based interventions and only after the consent of parents.
• Expand access to high-quality, appropriate mental health services for grades 6- 12 students whose parents consent to these services.
• Increase access to care by providing services at times and in settings that are convenient for students and ensures active parental involvement.
• Establish sustainable funding that leverages insurance billing to the greatest possible extent to expand the impact of state funding.
• Collect district and school level data on trends and impact while protecting individual student privacy.
• Address the rising rates of chronic absenteeism often associated with mental health services.
