The vendor is required to provide the technical skills, knowledge, and capacity to provide website accessibility consulting services.
- The final rule has specific requirements about how to ensure that web content and mobile applications (apps) are accessible to people with disabilities.
- Web content is defined to mean the information and sensory experience to be communicated to the user by means of a user agent (e.g., a web browser), including code or markup that defines the content’s structure, presentation, and interactions.
- This includes text, images, sounds, videos, controls, animations, and conventional electronic documents (e.g., pdf).
- At last count, there were over five hundred electronic documents with an estimated count of 10,000 total pages that need to be remediated.
- Provide full remediation services on a specific number of electronic documents that is to be determined.
- Provide training, guidance, documentation, and best practices support, so community transit employees who are responsible for content hosted on the website can learn how to create accessible electronic documents.
- This could include but is not limited to, project management, compliance testing, software recommendations, etc.
- Single point of contact who shall:
• Ensure clear communication between community and contractor.
• Oversee contract performance.
• Provide supervision of all personnel assigned to this contract
• Manage records and accounts concerning this contract.
• Be available in person or by telephone at all hours-of-service delivery to provide information, coordination, or assistance, as necessary.
• Serve as an emergency contact during off-hours.
• Provide training as needed for community to manage ADA requirements as needed moving forward.
- Staff must have qualified expertise in web site accessibility, specifically in meeting WCAG 2.1 level AA requirements including the remediation of electronic documents.
- The work can be performed at the vendor’s preferred location, including onsite at community headquarters.
