• Platforms on which your enterprise architecture solution can be deployed. if different products are required for various platforms, please indicate which products address which platforms;
• Describe any advantages or disadvantages between the different deployment options.
• State if the solution integrates with the microsoft office 365 suite and how this can be leveraged to streamline EA activities; and
• Describe the features and integrations that make information in the solution accessible to, or ability to feed from other tools and applications such as CMDB, ITSM, PPM, etc.
• Indicate if these are out-of-the-box or customizable.
- Features and functionality
• Enterprise transformation and portfolio management with respect to strategic planning, technology alignment, and execution of transformation initiatives;
• Portfolio analysis and visualization capabilities including mapping and tracking systems and artifacts, roadmaps and lifecycle management, capability mapping, dependencies, integrations and data flows;
• Capabilities for importing and exporting granular data and file type compatibility;
• Modelling capabilities including architectural models, reference architectures, security architectures (NIST, etc.) and capabilities to integrate with other modelling tools;
• Capabilities to analyze and optimize application and technology architectures in relation to risk analysis, impact analysis, gap analysis, scenario planning;
• Management of strategic architecture and project initiatives with respect to tracking, prioritization, reporting and integrating with other project management tools;
• Capabilities to synchronize all connected artifacts, entities, models and reports when architecture, metadata or information is changed. include information on any abilities to automate repetitive tasks or do bulk updates;
• Collaboration, sharing, feedback, workflow and self-service capabilities and how this achieved including pre-defined templates, customizable constraints, approval and compliance workflows, change notifications, and version control;
• Reporting, dashboard and presentation capabilities including live dashboards, formal reports for items like metrics, roadmaps, risk reports, current/future state and how the solution supports publication of content to partner systems; and
• Any features that differentiate your solution from similar solutions on the market.
- Implementation and support
• Solution implementation process including high-level implementation steps, roles and responsibilities, estimated timelines, and any value-added implementation services;
• How support is provided for the solution including support channels, coverage times, SLA’S etc.; and
• What self-support and learning options are available (ex. knowledgebase, self-paced training, community forums etc.)
- Respondents should include information on:
• Flexible licensing options such as concurrent and usage based (floating licenses) for different types of users;
• Enterprise licensing models that may create cost efficiencies as the city organization grows in size, increases the number of EA tool users, or uses more features of the tool;
• Cost of tool acquisition, implementation, integration and onboarding;
• Annual maintenance or support fees, upgrades, or training costs; and
• Any hidden costs for additional modules, connectors or increased integrations (APIS, etc.).
