The Vendor is required to provide k-12 content filtering and digital safety services for include:
1. Compliance and accessibility standards
• CIPA and safe search: full compliance with the children’s internet protection act; mandatory enforcement of safe search across all browsers (google, Bing, etc.).
• ADA/WCAG 2.1 AA mandate: required by April 24, 2026.
• All user-facing interfaces (student block pages, parent portals, and admin dashboards) must conform to WCAG 2.1 level AA standards to ensure accessibility for users with disabilities.
• Reporting and logs: centralized admin logs providing activity history with retention and export options for 30, 60, and 90-day intervals.
2. AI-powered filtering and threat protection
• Dynamic content analysis: AI-powered, customizable filtering to block inappropriate websites and subdomains in real-time based on content, not just URL lists.
• Security suite: integrated malware blocking and real-time threat detection to prevent cyberattacks at the edge.
• Intelligence feeds: automated system updates and threat intelligence feeds to maintain protection against emerging global trends.
• DNS security: implementation of secure and encrypted DNS protocols to prevent unauthorized bypasses and protect user privacy.
3. Policy management and control
• Category controls: predefined default category checklists (e.g., adult, alcohol, drugs, gambling) with the ability to create broad or granular custom rules.
• Granular policy management: ability to apply specific filtering profiles based on user groups (e.g., staff vs. Students) or grade levels.
• Performance: high-efficiency architecture to ensure low latency and minimal impact on internet speeds for end-users.
4. Scalability and deployment
• Capacity: scalable infrastructure to support a district environment of approximately 6,500 staff and 40,000 students.
• Universal roaming clients: native clients for windows, macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, and android to ensure consistent protection on and off-campus.
• Management integration: native compatibility with major RMM and MDM platforms for automated mass deployment.
• Self-onboarding: streamlined onboarding flows for unmanaged or BYOD (bring your own device) equipment not covered by the MDM.
5. Support and usability
• Admin console: a centralized, intuitive "ease of use" dashboard for simplified management of the entire district ecosystem.
• Technical support: access to dedicated system tech support and comprehensive training resources for district administrators.
