- The payment administrative interface is integrated with the state’s secure checkout service (SCS) for payment transactions over a secure channel.
- The online payment system is comprised of the following components:
1. Agency applications:
• This component serves as the primary interface for agencies to efficiently manage and process client related tasks.
• These tasks include receiving and handling applications, managing service requests, overseeing account management, and issuing products and services to customers.
• It facilitates seamless communication and data flow between the agency and the state's payment portal.
• Agency applications connect directly with the secure checkout service.
2. Secure checkout service:
• This service ensures secure and encrypted online transactions, safeguarding sensitive payment information using advanced security protocols.
• It protects against unauthorized access and fraud, while also linking the agency application with the payment administrative system
3. Payment administrative system:
• This component provides administrators with tools to monitor and manage payment activities, agencies products and gateway setups including user access.
• It helps users generate customer transaction reports, and transaction metrics including reconciliation and funding status.
• It offers valuable insights for decision-making, refunds, and ensures that transactions from the secure checkout service are properly tokenized and securely processed.
• It maintains PCI-compliant records for regulatory reporting and transmits reconciled data to the state's accounting system.
4. Payment gateway:
• The payment gateway is a state treasury approved bank gateway that securely processes tokenized transactions received from the payment administrative system.
• It authorizes and manages electronic payments, enabling businesses to accept online transactions securely.
• The gateway connects merchants with payment processors to handle credit card, and echeck payments.
