The Vendor is required to provide an Integrated Library System (ILS).
- Solution must offer a robust, user-friendly product that enables library staff to provide efficient and effective service to patrons.
- The Library’s collection is diverse and expansive comprising over 20 million items across a wide range of formats including books, manuscripts, state records, maps, videos, electronic resources, and microforms such as microcards, microfilm, and microfiche, scores, and realia.
- The Library’s commitment to collecting and preserving such a diverse and expansive collection is mission-driven but also mandated by law to ensure long-term stewardship and access to these materials for future generations.
- Staff schedule regular reports and generate reports on demand using the system's interface without needing to apply programming experience.
- Staff regularly run reports with large amounts of data such as inventory of current titles and inventory of deaccessioned titles. Staff rely on additional reports related to acquisitions and serials to claim titles, patron notifications and holds, as well as reports focusing on items within a specific call number range to help guide collection management and digitization projects.
- This should include but not limited to the transfer of the following data from our current system:
• Bibliographic records
• Authority records
• Lending policies
• Patron records
• Circulation data, location, and status of each item
- The ILS is required to be hosted by the vendor or cloud-based service provider.
- The system must allow staff to suppress bibliographic and/or item records from public displays.
- The system integrates with the library’s existing authentication tools for remote database access, EZproxy, and computer reservation management system, Envisionware.
- provide System Administrator personnel and support for delegated routine maintenance, on-demand reports, policy changes, security updates, and project assistance.
- The ILS is required to have full support for standard library operations and support 75 concurrent staff users:
• Acquisitions: Ability to keep track of vendors, funds, encumbrances, purchase orders, cancellations, and expenditures.
- Public Access Requirements
• The online public access catalog must be compatible with all recent versions of major browsers including Safari, Firefox, Edge, and Chrome.
• Public access requirements and accessibility laws may be met using a discovery layer or the native online public access catalog.
• The online public access catalog or discovery layer must, at least, provide the public with the ability to search for materials, view holdings, and view availability. Registered borrowers should be able to access their account information and place holds or requests. The online public access catalog should be easy to use, display accurate information, and support a successful user experience.
