The vendor is required to provide that written foreign language translation services for on an as-needed basis.
- Agency to ensure that all information communicated to non-English speaking students and parents and/or guardians of children attending the agency understand the information delineated.]
- The agency written translation services on an as needed basis for the following languages:
• Spanish (Latin american)
• Mixteco
• Tagalog
• Arabic
• Korean
• Vietnamese
• Chinese – simplified
• Chinese – traditional
• Cambodian
• Farsi
• Russian
- Translation services:
• Provide written translations of source texts from one language to the target language, with the meaning and intent of the original text. services will include translation of documentation by technically qualified and experienced translators at the level of competency required.
• Source documents for translation will be submitted to the contractor electronically in microsoft word, pdf, or scanned copies by the agency contract monitor
• The agency contract monitor will provide the contractor with a template to be used whenever translating an education document.
• The contractor will only be reimbursed once for the translation of the template into each language listed in languages. after original translation of agency templates contractor must use the translated templates at no additional charge to the agency.
• Written translation source texts include but are not limited to:
1. Individualized education plan reports
2. Assessment reports
3. Psych reports
4. Parent correspondence
5. Behavioral support plan
6. School handouts
• The process of translation is understood to include the following:
1. The initial translation and proofreading.
2. The consideration, acceptance, and/or rejection of any suggestions made regarding the translation by a second, independent contractor to whom the agency may send the contractor’s initial translation.
3. The resolution of any differences between the original translation and the reviewer, resulting in a final version of the translation.
• The contractor ensures that proofreader/editors who work on agency assignments will proofread translations for the following:
a. Grammar
b. Syntax
c. Spelling
d. Vocabulary
e. Punctuation
f. Accuracy
g. Correctness
h. Capitalization
i. Typographical errors
J. Consistency/parallelism
k. Appropriate or unnecessary uses of transliteration
l. Completeness
m. Text enhancements
n. Formatting consistent with the source document and/or with agency instructions
