The Vendor is required to provide for educational interpreting services.
- Responses for interpreting services that ensure effective communication between students, parents/guardians, and school personnel and to include assistance with the completion of full individual evaluations, parent meetings, consent meetings, REED meetings and ARD facilitation.
- Full individual evaluations (psychoeducational assessments, speech language evaluations, psychological evaluations) are needed to determine eligibility for specially designed instruction. In order to assess children with limited English proficiency, interpreter services are needed.
- Thus, interpreters are required at parent meetings, consent meetings, Review of Existing Evaluation Data (REED) meetings and admission, review and dismissal (ARD) meetings, as well as during evaluations of students who are English language learners.
- Educational Interpreter Services are needed for:
• Attend meetings and interpret for the parent and/or student
• Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) Committee meetings
• Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
• Initial and reevaluation eligibility meetings
• Special Education assessments and evaluation
• Parent conferences related to special education services
• Student testing and assessment situations
• Section 504 meetings, when requested
• Other special education- related meetings and communications.
